We are so pleased to let you all know that after the success of last years project, PiCL have been successful in our bid to Children in Need to deliver 3 years of creative sessions in local playgroups, all with the aim of engaging pre-school children and their families with books and reading.
We will be working with 4 playgroups per year, to deliver a range of creative activities based on some well known children's books.
Working with Justine Cope, a specialist early years and drama practitioner, we will bring the books to life through role play, craft activities, storytelling, singing and movement.
We will also work with the volunteers and parents to support them to come up with their own creative activities linked to the books.
Thanks to Children in Need for the funding and also Nicola Rosson, A Community Champion at Stoke on Trent City Council, who is helping by developing our links and relationships with the playgroups.
