PROJECT: TALES FROM THE UNEXPECTED

Children from a Goldenhill school believe they have unearthed evidence of a creature from another planet living in the pond in the grounds of their school.

Pupils at St Joseph’s RC Primary School made the discovery a couple of weeks ago and have been working with ‘scientists’ to find out more about the creature which they have caught a couple of fleeting glimpses of.

They have found eggs at the Mobberley Road site, seen evidence of what the creature has eaten, followed footprints left at the scene and even viewed CCTV footage of it playing with some toys.

Acting head teacher Lynn Gibson said that Year Four pupils had been sworn to secrecy until all the tests had been carried out:

“We have had to keep the creature’s arrival at the school a closely guarded secret while the pupils carried out their research and investigations,” she said. “And the children have been using listening and speaking skills, writing about their experiences as well as making models and masks as part of their work finding out more about the creature.”
