PICL

PiCL is a team of passionate professionals who believe that creativity has the potential to transform all aspects of society

The team at Partners in Creative Learning has considerable experience in supporting creative learning initiatives.

As well as our core in-house team, we work with an extended network of creative agents from all backgrounds and areas of expertise. Creative practitioners themselves, they specialise in brokering creative learning partnerships with schools, helping them to develop ideas and expand their engagement with the whole creative learning process.

You can read more about who we are and what we do below.

  • RACHEL BILLINGTON

    Acting Director

What is your role at PiCL?

I oversee the programmes that we develop with our partners and facilitate planning, delivery and reflection. I help to make sure we all know what we are doing, why we are doing it and what difference it makes.

How long have you been working with Creative Partnerships/PiCL?

I joined Creative Partnerships in April 2005, and became part of PiCL when it launched in April 2009.

    What’s your background?

I worked in theatre education for over ten years before joining Creative Partnerships.

Best/most rewarding thing about your job?

Seeing ideas come to fruition; making connections; hearing about young people who have exceeded expectations; having my brain stretched by big ideas.

When you were at school, what did you want to be when you grew up?

    An actor.

If I’m not at work, you can find me…

In a coffee shop with a large cappuccino, watching the world go by…

    Rachel
  • ERICA LOVE

    Operations Manager

What is your role at PiCL?

I look after the financial side of PiCL, as well as making sure all the policies and procedures are up to date, and hopefully support the team in making stuff happen.

How long have you been working with Creative Partnerships/PiCL?

I joined Creative Partnerships in 2005, and moved over to PiCL when it was launched in April 2009.

    What’s your background?

I was a jack of all trades, from retail, to customer services, to a company secretary for a tyre manufacturer. Immediately before I joined Creative Partnerships, I was working at the local Racial Equality Council.

Best/most rewarding thing about your job?

The people we work with – the PiCL team, the teachers, the practitioners, the agents and the young people. They all inspire me in so many ways.

When you were at school, what did you want to be when you grew up?

    A professional netball player.

If I’m not at work, you can find me…

In my garden, and/or sharing a glass of wine and good conversation with friends.

    Erica
  • IAIN PERRY

    Programme Coordinator

What is your role at PiCL?

Diary keeper, event organiser, first point of contact – the big smiling face of PiCL.

How long have you been working with Creative Partnerships/PiCL?

I joined Creative Partnerships, as it then was, in November 2006.

    What’s your background?

I’ve spent time as a visual artist, DJ, computer-geek, restaurateur, pesto-maker, and gardener. I like to think of myself as an all round renaissance man (although others might beg to differ!)

Best/most rewarding thing about your job?

Working with a great team and seeing the difference that the work makes in peoples’ lives. I also really like my big iMac!

When you were at school, what did you want to be when you grew up?

    A spaceman.

If I’m not at work, you can find me…

In my studio or down the pub…
